Mediterranean call for floating offshore wind

Institutions and principle manufacturers of Offshore Wind energy called for the development of 3GW floating offshore wind array in the French Mediterranean by 2030.

French Mediterranean Sea is ready for first commercial floating offshore wind energy in 2019. This location offers ideal conditions for this technology, with huge and constant wind power, without tidal currents and moderated sea waves, also seabed is propitious.

The call for 3GW of floating wind by 2030 has gathered 74 signatories including Equinor, the owner and operator of the world’s first commercial floating wind farm, GE Renewable Energy, Siemens Gamesa, Senvion, wpd, Engie, EDP Renewables, EDF Energies Nouvelles, etc.
